Privacy Policy · Last updated March 2026

Your data stays on your device.

UtilityZoo is built on a simple principle: we can't misuse data we never receive. This page explains exactly what is and isn't collected, and why.

Files never uploaded

All processing runs in your browser. No file ever touches a server.

No personal data collected

No accounts, no tracking, no identifying information stored.

No data to breach

Zero-server architecture - there's no database that could be compromised.

What we do not collect

UtilityZoo does not collect, store, transmit, or access: the files you upload or convert, the text you enter into any tool, the contents of your PDFs or images, the metadata in your photos (including GPS location), passwords you check in the Password Strength Checker, or any other input you provide during a session. This data exists only in your browser's memory while you use a tool and is discarded entirely when you close the tab or navigate away.

The architecture is the privacy policy

Unlike most web services, UtilityZoo has no file upload endpoint. Our tools use browser APIs - Canvas API, WebAssembly, Web Workers - to process everything locally on your device. When you click "Convert," your file doesn't travel to a server; a script runs inside your browser tab. There is no backend storage that could receive your files even if we wanted to collect them.

Analytics and usage data

We may collect anonymous, aggregated analytics data such as: which pages are visited, which tools are used most, approximate country of origin (derived from IP, not stored), browser type, and device category. This data is used solely to understand which tools are most valuable. We do not use it to identify individual users. We do not sell this data to any third party.

Cookies

UtilityZoo uses minimal cookies. Session-related browser storage (localStorage/sessionStorage) may be used to preserve tool state between page refreshes. This data never leaves your browser. If we display advertisements through Google AdSense, Google may set its own advertising cookies subject to Google's Privacy Policy. You can manage or block cookies at any time through your browser settings.

Third-party API usage

Some tools optionally interact with external public APIs as part of their core function. For example: the Sitemap Generator may query the Wayback Machine CDX API with a domain you provide; the Open Graph Preview tool fetches a webpage URL via a CORS proxy. In these cases, the URL or domain you enter is sent to those public APIs to complete the function you requested. We do not log, store, or transmit these requests to any other party.

Data security

Because UtilityZoo does not receive or store your files, documents, or personal data, there is no central database of user data that could be compromised. The browser-based architecture is itself the primary security measure. Our website is served over HTTPS to ensure the tool code itself is not tampered with in transit.

Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy when we add new tools or external integrations. Changes will be reflected on this page with an updated date at the top. If we ever make a material change - for example, if we ever introduce server-side processing - we will note it prominently. Continued use of the site after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
